Bikes aren’t our only summer specialty. We also cater to your backpacking and hiking needs by providing rental equipment for camping. Our camping gear rentals are indicative of the gear we sell, which also creates an opportunity to demo that pack you’ve always wanted or test a different temperature-rated sleeping bag.

No refund on early returns.
 
 RESERVATION POLICY
• Call 800-223-4655 to make reservations. • The customer needs to have a credit card for deposit and sign a waiver when the gear is picked up.
• Reservations made less than one week in advance must be pre-paid in full.
• Reservations cancelled within one week of the pick-up date are subject to a fee of 50% of the entire reservation amount.
• The Alpineer will try to determine sizes as best we can when you phone in your reservation, but will not be responsible for final fitting decisions.
• We do not issue refunds for gear that's returned early.
 
 OTHER RENTAL NOTES
• We use Therm-a-Rest RidgeRest closed-cell foam sleeping pads.
• We rent climbing shoes. Check out the climbing rental page for info.
• All gear available may be reserved at 800.223.4655.
• Trekking poles can be rented for free with a credit card deposit.
 
 ADDITIONAL DAYS
We offer a multi-day discount for consecutive day rentals:

2 Days = 5% off entire rental
3 Days = 10% off entire rental
4 Days = 15% off entire rental
5 Days = 20% off entire rental
 
 TENTS
Mountain Hardwear Lightwedge 2 and 3: Our lighter weight 3- season backpacking tents. The Lightwedge 2 is a 2-person, free-standing tent with 2.5 poles and a windowed, full coverage rain fly. The Lightwedge 3 has the same characteristics but is the larger 3-person version.

Mountain Hardwear Trango 2: A very stable tent which has the ability to withstand any weather the Colorado Rockies can throw at you.

 SLEEPING BAGS
Mountain Hardwear 2nd Dimension: A synthetic filled 15° bag which comes in regular (6’0) and long (6’6). This is a mummy shaped bag.

Mountain Hardwear King Tut: A down filled –20° bag which comes in long (6’6). This is a mummy shaped bag.

Western Mountaineering Puma: A down filled –10° Dryloft bag which comes in regular (6’0). Dryloft is a waterproof membrane laminated to the shell of the bag, which protects the down from getting wet. This is also a mummy shaped bag.

 PACKS
Below is a list of packs we have in rental. We divide them into two basic categories: small packs and large packs. Small packs are typically for day use or “fast and light” trips, while our large packs are great for multi-day use. We also have kid-carriers for rent.

Osprey Crescent 90, Men's Medium: This is a large pack with 5300 cu. in. and an internal frame. It has the ability to custom-size the hip belt and shoulder harness.

Osprey Luna 90, Women's Medium: This is a large pack with 5500 cu .in. and an internal frame. It has the ability to custom-size the hip belt and shoulder harness.

Osprey Silhouette, Men's Large: This is a large pack with 5400-5600 cu. in. and an internal frame. It has the ability to custom-size the hip belt and shoulder harness.

Osprey Isis, Women's Medium: This is a large pack with 4700 cu .in. and an internal frame. It has the ability to custom size the hip belt and shoulder harness.

Osprey Aether 75, Men's Medium and Large: This is a large pack with a more streamlined design and a lighter suspension system. A great pack for the weight conscience individual. The size medium pack is 4500 cu. in. and the size large pack is 4700 cu.in.

Osprey Ariel 75, Women's Small and Medium: This is a large pack with a more streamlined design and a lighter suspension system. A great pack for the weight conscience individual. The Ariel is also a women’s specific pack, meaning a shorter torso length and women’s shoulder harness and hip belt. The size small pack is 4300 cu. in. and the size medium pack is 4500 cu. in.

Osprey Aether 60, Men's Large: This is a large pack with the same features as the Aether 75 and 3900 cu. in. of space.

Osprey Eclipse 36: This is a very versatile small pack with 2200 cu. in. and an excellent suspension system for it’s size. The Eclipse carries a load very well, keeping you comfortable all day long.

Osprey Helios 26: This is a our smallest available pack with 1600 cu. in. of space.

Madden Caravan Kid Carrier: This pack has adjustable suspension, a removable daypack, and is rated for children up to 75 lbs.
